Reflection of the semester

Obviously I improved my level of English, I already know this because now I feel more secure of speak or write in English. During all the semester we did a lot of activities but I think that the one that helped me more was Canvas because there I learned and practiced things that supposedly already knew but I could reaffirm them.
I know that I can't stop practicing everyday so I commit myself to continue studying and investigate the topics or words that I don't know, to be perfect with the time.

I really enjoyed this class because I learned in a funny way not only with notes and the book. I didn't know a professor that used so so many applications, this helped us a lot so you are so cool teacher.

CORRECTION - ESSAY:

To get a job always has to be something that you really want, something that you enjoy to do. 

In my opinion it is a good idea to work in the same place with members of our family because we know that we can trust in them and also we can work better because we know how to treat ourselves.

For example i'm studying Communication but my brother already graduated from the same career, he works in occesa seitrack so he works all the time with artists, he needs helps to take photos in concerts or events and I have to help them, he trusts me that's why he ask me for help. 

He knows how has to treat me and use that to give me advice on how I can take better photos or videos.

That is my opinion about working with members of our family, in my case I have only worked with my brother, for that reason I say that it is a good idea. But in general I think that the family is always in which we can trust and we know how we have to treat them to make the things good.

I read this video that explains what some scientists say about what we should do to get a good night's sleep. They say things that we know since always but sometimes we prefer to ignore for example we shouldn't use our cell phone one hour before to sleep, we should do exercise, and this recommendation is a little difficult for some that is avoid drinking alcohol before sleep. This video say interesting things that we must remember when we can't sleep well.

I found a video that caught my attention because it is related with my career. This video explains what the key features are that the perfect company logo should have which are an iconic shape, iconic color and attach a sound with the logo. This was interesting for me because for my career of Communication and Digital Media this is something important if someday I have to design a logo.

Reflection of the second partial

This partial I felt  good because I achieved to get a much better score that was one of my goals. But also I felt a little nervous because I had to study more for the Toeic exam, the truth is that I don't know if I did it well but I hope so. I know that I have to continue studying everyday because still are two more sections, so I'll keep practicing.

I did an exercise in ECentral that was about the trailer of the movie "Me before you" that maybe is my favorite. In this mobile application I had to write some of the words that the narrator said. I like to do this exercises because it's a different way to learn and practice.

This information is really weird for me because it's no normal that a man has one of the biggest collections in the world that is of Barbie dolls. He has 6,000 dolls and their favorite is which was featured in the movie “Toy Story. He said that he has problems to find a girlfriend because they feel insecure because they aren't like the perfect dolls. This is strange but interesting.

This week I read about the Pink Water in Canada. This page explains how this happened in three levels, but all say the same only change the difficulty of the words. The point of these information was that some day in Canada the water turned pink and people were shocked because they didn't understand what happened but the reason was simple, the water turned pink because the potassium permanganate, which was used to wash the town’s water filters.

This week I listened to a video in which a professor of pediatric endocrinology at the University of California at San Francisco explains how eating too much sugar are developing diseases in children that before only alcoholics used to get. This is something really worrying because if children since a short age start to eat a lot of sugar, they must get diabetes or other diseases that like the professor said could be related with the problems that alcohol causes.

This week I found this video that explains how some brands in their logos play with activity that they do and if we pay attention we can see little details that are related with the brand. It is really interesting because sometimes we don't see this this kind of creative logos that are very cool.

Reflection of the first partial

In this first partial I felt good and not, yes because Im am practicing everyday in the class and my home, but not because I got a bad score this partial. I know that im not so bad in English but sometimes I don't pay a lot attention in all the topics so when I have to study or to do some exercises about this I'm not sure about what I have to do. I promised myself that this partial I would get a better score and obviously I'm going to practice  more and more.

The day I was  in the Stardust Restaurant I went with a friend we wanted to celebrate her birthday but there was a problem with the  woman that bought us the dinner, when I made de reservation  I specified that I wanted a cake for us and the person who I talked to  told me that it would be a pleasure so when I paid the cake to the woman she told me that there weren't any cakes, obviously I got angry and I explained that our cake should be in our table right now, the woman shouted at me and said that if there wasn't  a cake it wasn't her fault, I tried to calm her down  and we went away the fastest  we could.

Well that was the problem: mainly the service of waitress so I suggest that speak with her because she was rude with us and can be with anybody and and obviously I suggest that do what you promise, the restaurant promised me that my cake would be there and it was not there.

That day should be especial and but it wasn't  for your fault.

For this week I read an article that caught my attention because talks about something that sometimes worried me that is "How to Calm Your Nerves Before a Big Presentation" . Since I found this article I wanted to read it because when I haver a presentation or a oral work I always get so nervous and in this information I could found some tips that  can help me in this situations like what I have to do before and during the presentation. I think that this article include good information for this situation that can scare us a lot.

This project I really like it because it helped me to improve my speaking and also my writing. It was fun because I spent a lot of time practicing what I had to say and I had to record many times my audios because I laughed for the intonation of my voice or for making mistakes. In my opinion this project was cool and I would like to do more like this.

This week I read an very interesting article named "Here's why Snap is playing it safe with investors" the information that this article shows us is important because it mentions real data about this application that in these momentos I think that a lot of the young people are using it. For example this article said "It's about being able to communicate how you feel and in the moment" and that it's true because well in my case when I share something in snapchat is because I feel happy or because I want to share something fun. Snapchat it's a great application nowadays but this success has a lot of work behind that not everyone knows.

This week I read this article that try to explain how the chemicals are in most of the food that we consume even in the naturals. We think that the natural food is better because it is supposed that they don't contain chemicals but thats a lie not all the natural food have chemicals but yes a plenty of them. Also I can think that the natural foods can be more cheaper but the true is that the artificial flavors generally cost less because is cheaper  to produce and finding them that the natural.

This article gives very nice ideas of presents for Valentines Day.

This practice of the TOEIC exam was so helpful for me because I could realize that I really have to practice more in both things reading and listening. I need a lot of more vocabulary and improve my listening because there are some words or kind of conversations I really don´t understand so I have to work in that.

I think that I didn't get so bad results in this practice of the TOEIC exam pero obviously I can get better results.

My score for Listening was 385 and for Reading 325, with this score I could have a B1, its a little sad but now I know in what I can work on to improve this score to get B2 or more.

For this report I did an activity in ECentral. What I had to do was to listen some parts of a video and later write some missed words.

This application is very helpful to us because we can practice the part of listening, writing and also speaking. I think that this application is good and really can help us because it is not boring and we can find a lot of videos of anything so we can practice with interesting and new topics.

I found this page that can help everyone to practice reading, here we can find a lot of articles and each has 3 levels so the first level has kind of easy vocabulary and the third level has more difficult vocabulary. 

Well this time I read an article named "Peruvian Dog Wedding Ceremonies" this explain how is that in Peru the dogs can get married it is a little weird but it's real the dogs meet for a year and later they can be married. I wish it was that easy haha.

Listening

The listening part of the test was a little difficult because it takes to much time and attention, I have never taken the TOEIC exam so I really don't know that there was a lot of questions. I think that I'm not so bad in the listening part but obviously I have to practice more because I know that I can be better.

Reading 

I have to admit that I get distracted very easily so I had some problems to finish this part of the exam. The first part of the test was a little difficult for me because I don´t knew some words but later I think that was easier so I was able to continue faster that in the first time. In general I think that this part of the test helped me to know what I have to practice and learn more.
